Nice! I'd love to have a Commander size. Maybe for Christmas.
I got the blues as my companion.

I agree with FBG; They don't even make to the sales floor at my local gunshop...my name is currently about 5th or 6th on the "first refusal" list. So far no one has refused when one comes in. They have been getting about 1 a month so maybe by fall I won't think you suck quite so much.

Congratulations!

I decided to retire my Para LTC and replace it with the Ruger 1911 Commander. It is heavier but I compensate that with a holster that rides a little higher than what I carry normally (OWB). So far I have not had any issues after shooting 500 rounds through it. Let me know how it works for you.

You guys are contagious! This morning I picked up a Ruger SR-1911, (full size). Like many, I've been wanting one, but there were either none to be had, or else they were priced beyond all logic. I'll try to post a few pics in a day or two. I just love the looks of it. Ruger really builds a nice 1911 for the money. I really like the black contrasting small parts. Black and Stainless on a 1911 really look good together. A bit like Stainless steel kitchen appliances and black granite counter tops.

Thanks for the corruption of the innocent...Now on my short list... :P
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

When I first read this I thought you picked one up as in, "fondle it".
I should have known better.  :P

Just a couple of quick pics. I thought it was kind of funny. When I bought my Remington R-1 Stainless I was a bit surprised to see that Remington finally got rid of the cardboard box, and went to a nice green molded plastic carrying case.

When I got the Ruger SR-1911, I was just as surprised to see Ruger had gone from nice plastic carrying cases, to a cardboard box. They did include a small zippered "rug" type case however.

Billt, looks like a nice pistol there.  Very striking.  One question though: Is that lint or debris on the slide stop, or is it some kind of scratch or casting flaw?

It's lint from either the wipe down cloth I used, or the dogs bed it's sitting on. It's time for a new one of both.
