I liked about every third one. Most were just being macho vs being real.

Being a real man is about facing how little you can actually do in a chaos situation and still doing the best you can.
“You cannot allow any of your people to avoid the brutal facts. If they start living in a dream world, it’s going to be bad.” Gen. James Mattis

The Kowalski site was spot on.

-He is a handyman

Walt can fix anything around the house that needs a fixing; he even calls himself a “handyman” – something that all men used to call themselves.

Walk up to 10 men on the street while holding a ball-peen hammer and ask them to tell you what it is; 6 won’t know what it is, 2 will scream for the police because they think you are robbing them and the other 2 wont even speak English.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Ask 100 people what a peen is and see if anyone knows.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Letter to Alexander Hamilton, Friday, May 02, 1783

Being from Florida, you should definitely know.  Some of those rigs those Cuban refugees put together to get from there to here are pretty clever.  If they can build a working boat out of a busted up '54 Ford, an old washing machine, and some duct tap, plop it in the ocean, and navigate their way here, I say let 'em stay and put 'em to work.  They obviously have skills that are useful.

I'd much rather have them than the do-nothing bums who come here legally and milk the system.  *cough*Somalia*cough*
Bravery and stupidity are often synonymous.  So are cowardice and intelligence.

"We Americans have been a rebellious band of freedom loving vagabonds from the very beginning. Our freedom from the crown and tyranny would not exist had it not been for the gun. That's a tradition we like to hold on to.  The same can't be said for the rest of you 'Subjects of the Queen'."--said to a Canadian friend who just doesn't get it.
