Charlie Daniels on the Ammo Shortage
« on: March 04, 2013, 04:30:19 PM »
Interesting piece from Charlie Daniels on the Ammo Shortage and Big Government:

http://cnsnews.com/blog/charlie-daniels/if-govt-can-make-bullets-disappear-stores-why-cant-it-make-food-and-medicine

But one thing I was surprised by:

Quote
But, can somebody please tell me why Homeland Security and many other, supposedly benign government agencies have bought over two billion rounds and are ordering millions more of all calibers, even the smaller ones?

Why does a shoot-to-kill outfit like Homeland Security need tiny caliber bullets like .22's that are made for hunting small game? Is Homeland Security going to start exterminating squirrels or rabbits, and why does an agency like Social Security need any kind of ammunition?

Is DHS really buying up .22lr?  I couldn't find that anywhere on the Internet.

Sounds like Charlie has been visting with his cousin Jack.

Well intentioned but uninformed.

The .22 ammo is for the suppressed pistols for when they start executing citizens by shooting them in the back of the head it doesn't hurt their hearing.

I haven't seen anything that says DHS or any other .gov party is buying ANY 22lr ammo.
IMHO, those empty shelves are caused by people - not .gov types - buying at record levels.

Think about it...has the gov EVER done anything cheap?  It's not like it's their money they're spending.

To the best of my knowledge the last time the Gov used .22 for training was WWII.
