Do tell.   Pictures would help in counseling.  Of course, for truly in-depth help I'd need to have both the 1911's and your new friend spend some time at my clinic.

Will work for ammo

ME TOO!  Picked up a Gen 3 17 on a GSSF cert.  Haven't had time to shoot it but ammo is ready to go.  Enjoy m58.

Gen 4 17!

I have never had a Glock, and I have only shot one once before - Some compact thing in 40 our local PD carries.  I gave my M&P9 to the kid for Christmas, and I was feeling hollow.  With the barren shelves I ask every time I'm in my pushers' places.

Last night on my way home from the Cities I was in one place and asked about either a M&P9 or a Glock in 9 and got laughed at again.  I was reminded there isn't even 9 mm ammo out there.  I went down the street to the next place and after chatting I said "Well, before I go I have to ask if you have any M&P's or Glocks in 9"  The guy's eyes got real big:  "We had a Glock come in TODAY, and the guy that wanted it is backing out."

He brought out the box, I petted it a little, and said I'd take it.  He quickly said "You'd be an idiot not to!"

The dark side now has a citizen in my gun room.

I think you'll love it for the simplicity alone. I love my gen4 G26 and would pick up a G17 if only I could find one.
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776

My 27 has been my constant companion for very many years, now.

I would not willingly give it up.

I got a Glock as my first semiauto but I always had trouble hitting with it. If I slow down and really focus I can stay on target. I just thought it was me until I bought a 1911 and suddenly it was easier to stay on target and I was a lot faster! Since then we bought an SR9 and SR9C and both feel and shoot great.

I think it is mostly the grip angle is too steep for me. It is a nice gun, shoots all day with no complaints and easy to clean. I put a Hogue grip band on it and it fits my hand better but still does not point naturally for me or my son.

I have seen some stuff lately about aftermarket ways to trim the back of the grip to change the angle. Anyone got any experience with this?
