If however, you are in one party district, and the primary IS the election, then its pure SD. At least you can support a good challenger. I registered GOP in In,, and I'm a Dem know as it was pointless to vote if you weren't voting for the dominant party. There wasn't even a GOP candidate on the ballot in my state house race. I got to vote for the more pro-gun Dem instead. He lost, but at least there was a good chance (it was almost a recount). Same in Idiana omly in reverse. I liked Texas, with its open primaries, where you got to order ala carte for any candidate that you supported regardless of party.
