Manufacturors denying salles to Government?

I have learned that several gun makers are cutting off gun sales to the federal gov't in response to the proposed restrictions. As in, if a gov't restrictd gun rights, the maker will stop selling to that government. I say yippee! What do ya think?

Several threads here already on it - and I too think it's a great idea.
What we need now are Ruger/S&W/Remington/Glock/SA to step up and just say no also.

I also like thetheidea of gun makers stsnding up in other ways. 2 examples are McMillen firearms and American Spirit Arms. It seems that both of these companys used Bank of America for their banking and other financial needs. While trying to figure out why there were some issues with the bank the companys were told that the bank was uncomfortable doing business with a gun maker. Both comanys have since ( very publicly) pulled their money out and now do business with other banks.Maybewe should consider doing the same and telling them why.  I pulled my money out of BofA after the housing bubble burst and the bailouts. Put it all in a small local bank and have gotten great service.

I like the idea of manufacturers taking a stance.  However, this will not stop the government at any level from getting the American made weapons they want.  The government has the power to force manufacture or take the patent and force another manufacturer.

Where does this power come from?  The government can arbitrarily take a proprietary or patented process or product from one company and force another to manufacture it?  Has this happened in the past?

They pull the authority from the preamble to the Constitution of the United States:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

If you take the full preamble in context it isn't there, but that has never stopped people.  This is the reasoning they have used to force businesses to serve those who refuse to pay - Hospitals can't turn away because of inability to pay, funeral homes can not hold up a funeral for lack of payment, (brain fart .... Just lost my train of thought  ).  Some have even argued and won with eminent domain to seize assets from business to procure needed goods for the community.

Show me where it is clear they can, and I will thank you for pulling the blinders off my face; show me where it says they can't, and I will agree with you; but accept that the interpretation has been perverted to mean what they want.

Those manufacturers are brilliant and I wish them all the best of success. Sadly the .gov only needs three people to play ball. Colt, FNH, and Beretta. None of them with the exception of Beretta is making any stir about things, I don't see Beretta really rocking the boat too hard.

All that said, show your support to those companies, I've written a few emails thanking them for standing up for me at would could be a loss to them.
