From "Alabama Open Carry" forum

Yesterday at the Valley Wal-mart in Chambers County, a small group of people were singled out to have their Rights violated. It all started when Chambers County Coordinator Jimmy Allen was informed that in order for him to purchase ammo, he would have to provide his DL so Wal-mart could record his DL# and possibly other info. Jimmy knew this was not legal and demanded that he be provided the policy in writting. The Asset Protection Coordinator told him that he would not provide the policy in writting and that Jimmy was not allowed to purchase ammo. All the other people present provided their information upon request.

I called Wal-mart and spoke with Veronica about this policy. She told me that these people are suspicious because they buy ammo every morning and "We need to know who they are!" I informed her that these actions are a violation of their Rights and Wal-mart CAN NOT Track ammo purchases! She again stated that these people are suspicious and they might do something with all that ammo. I informed her that AGR is demanding that she and the APO be terminated immediately. She told me to remove her name from that because she was not involved. The APO told Jimmy that he and Veronica came up with this hairbrained scheme. I have since learned that the store manager was out this week and Veronica is acting store manager til Monday. I then informed her that I had not decided if I would ask for the store manager to be terminated for allowing this to take place.

Jimmy Allen sent a complaint to corporate about this "policy" and asked for them to stop violating his Rights. But, this morning Jimmy returned to Wal-mart, with video and audio running, to purchase ammo. He was once again denied for not providing his DL# so they could add him to the "LIST" which was seen by Jimmy and others. While Jimmy was being denied, I was on the phone again with Veronica. Jimmy asked to speak to her, but, she was on a phone call. After my call ended Veronica was not available to speak with Jimmy. I think she burst into flames after hanging up with me!

In the mean time, an AGR member whom I will refer to as "The Grand Inquisitor", called the APO and let him know what he was doing was a violation of our Rights and our first inclination was to sue him personally for violating members civil Rights! The APO was stunned by this statement and assured the Grand Inquisitor that Wal-mart corporate had contacted him this morning and ordered him to DESTROY the list. The APO was also put on notice that this list could have been used for identity thief purposes or to determine where the people live that are purchasing ammo every morning because they own guns and could become the victims of burglary.

This issue is resolved and if anyone should be terminated I will leave that up to Wal-mart corporate. We have put them on notice that AGR will have members in this store purchasing ammo on a daily basis.

Thank you Jimmy Allen for jumping on this with both feet to protect the Rights of the people in Chambers County! Jimmy took a whole flock of sheep and turned them into a pack of Wolves! Yesterday they all willingly provided information to purchase ammo and today they refused!

Thank you to the Grand Inquisitor for putting a boot in their a$$!

Thank you Mr. Jimmy Allen you stood up for your rights as well as everyone elses in these times of 2A bashing and uncertainty.

The fight needs to be at the state level. "All politics are local."  I spent yesterday afternoon working with Oregon Firearms Foundation at a Sportsman's Show in what turned out to be an interview. I'll be representing OFF at gunshows recruiting, raising finds and raising awareness.

It looks like AGR is on the right track and I'll add those actions to my own tool box.

It's taking off here, even on the "Old South" of Alabama..
The last two times I heard from my (and not even "my", at that!!) State Rep, I didn't start the conversation.. He reported back to me!!
I just got a note from him saying that a "Shall Issue" law will be signed "very soon"..
It's a good start!!  ;D

Thanks for this. Thanks Jimmy Allen and you all for standing up and howling for the rest of us. We need to be wolves these days, lest the herd of sheep smother us. You're welcome back in Florida anytime, you know?   ;)
