I tell you something about this kids video's for NRA that REALLY pisses me off.
The disclaimer at the beginning.
These should be the opinions of EVERY NRA member.

Tom, I agree that it should be our opinion.  However, in this day and age of sound bites the National Rifle Association needs to make sure that there is clarity of what has been run through the approval process and what hasn't.  Among the many things it does, this disclaimer gives the Board the chance to step back from the comments of those like Coloin and Ted.

I agree, but unless they want to sit down and screen what he says the waiver is what you get.

I put a "Weasel Waiver" at the beginning of all my presentations so I don't have to flex to scrutiny of others.

Cow won't be sued by every anti-gun lawyer who has a joke of a chance.   Just the cost of responding to that many actions could be crippling. 

There have been several companies run out business by an overwhelming onslaught of legal actions...the entire firearms industry was in jeopardy of massive legal costs from "frivolous" lawsuits.  Laws were passed to protect them....

The NRA will not  have that protection and they are doing all they can cover their butts.

The disclaimer was so broad and non-specific that it includes every individual and organization in the Universe.

They referred to ...  any individual or organizations...  note the plural, so it is more than just the NRA saying they don't want to be on the hook for what is said...they just don't want the chance of being sued by someone who might decide to sue for what ever grounds.

In other words they are weaseling.
They want the name but lack the nuts to play the game full tilt.
Like some on here, all  sorts of big talk but when push comes to shove they have to worry about their pension, or their kids tuition, or some other chicken sh!t BS .
The one that really makes me laugh is "Well, it's the law."

Let's put this in the context I deal with.  I teach several different things.  Before I start I make sure you realize that there are laws, rules, and regulations that your are bound to.  If I am not quoting the statute, etc. it is my opinion, and you are entitled to my opinion.  Regardless of my opinion, or your understanding of my opinion, you are still bound by the law, rule, or regulation.

If I were to have someone referencing me with my permission I want control of that statement.  Without that control I am not responsible for anything they say.

In a case of Carry classes, if a student is involved in an incident based on that Permit to Carry and they go to court, I WILL be called in to explain my roll in the training.  The National Rifle Association can face the same either in court or the court of public opinion.  If they do not control the message they will not let it be represented as their message.

Yes, it is 100% defense against the Weasel.

Different situation M58 .
You are concerned about giving some one a set of skills that can result in injury or death if misapplied .
They are weaseling on ideas that their existence is based on not compromising .
It is as if Lincoln had "freed the slaves" by saying that "all blacks under 6 ft tall are free as long as their owner doesn't mind".
(Slaves over 6 ft represent NFA items )
