What does any of this have to do with Facebook? People are either stupid or not. Intelligent people don't change their minds from being on Facebook. Stupid people and sheeple do. As for Clint, he is just an actor and a director, but always entertaining. Actors and directors are entitled to their opinions that differ in real life from the fictional lives they depict on screen. Many of us are entertained when we shoot our guns; actors entertain when they shoot theirs on screen. Why in hell are we even discussing this? WGAS?

FQ,

Your characterization of the P-90 as looking like a Mattel toy appears analogous to those that characterize the AR-15 as looking like an assault rifle. Neither characterization, no matter how appropriate, makes it so. We must be bored to tears!

Oh c'mon, if you were the prop guy on a cheesy sci-fy show, what gun would you grab? Its either the P-90 or the Streyer AUG.  Personally I'd prefer the Steyer, either way, you get the "Star Wars " vibe. ;D

Jrlobo,

The reason I started this with minimal introduction is that I thought a few of us would be smart enough to figure it out.

We have people who are taking Clint Eastwood's fake side, combining it with  a money making statement he made, and tagging him as a friend of our Second Amendment and friend of us.  People trust everything they read on the internet without questions.  Like they say in the Geico commercial "If it's on the internet it has to be true."

Be careful who you trust and who you believe.  And before you spread a post around, make sure it says what you want to believe it says.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Bon Jour. ;D

PS its All State, from our "first black President" (Think 24).

PPS. I usually don't quote wiki, but here is Clint on guns

Despite being heavily associated with firearms in his Westerns and cop movies, Eastwood has publicly endorsed gun control since at least 1973. In the April 24, 1973, edition of the Washington Post, the star stated that "I'm for gun legislation myself. I don't hunt."[302] Two years later, in 1975, Eastwood told People magazine that he favors "gun control to some degree".[303] About a year later, Eastwood remarked that "All guns should be registered. I don't think legitimate gun owners would mind that kind of legislation. Right now the furor against a gun law is by gun owners who are overreacting. They're worried that all guns are going to be recalled. It's impossible to take guns out of circulation, and that's why firearms should be registered and mail-order delivery of guns halted."[304] In 1993, he noted that "I was always a backer" of the Brady Bill, with its federally mandated waiting period.[305] In 1995, Eastwood questioned the purpose of assault weapons. Larry King, the famous television host and newspaper columnist, wrote in the May 22, 1995, edition of USA Today that "My interview with Eastwood will air on 'Larry King Weekend' ... I asked him his thoughts on the NRA and gun control and he said that while people think of him as pro-gun, he has always been in favor of controls. 'Why would anyone need or want an assault weapon?' he said."[306]

Yup!  Now join me in pointing that out to the idiots who are supposedly a part of the gun culture but are posting him as a hero.

This is nothing new.  People post pics of John Wayne epitomizing patriotism & courage, when in fact he sought and obtained 3A status draft deferment in WWII.

Bigger, established stars such as Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart volunteered; both flying combat missions (bombers) over Europe in WWII.

Stewart is credited with 20 missions over Germany and taking part in hundreds of air strikes during his tour of duty. He earned the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, France's Croix de Guerre, and 7 Battle Stars.

But for some reason, The Duke gets the aura.

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

m58,

I can't believe any of us gives a damn what actors do on screen vs what they say and do in real life. Integrity has nothing to do with it. It's nothing but a living to them. On screen they live a make-believe life. Actors get into trouble when they confuse that make-believe life with reality...like Superman did. And that's why I said, and say, WGAS!

FQ,

Neither. I'm a SCAR man. But if I had to choose, it would be the P-90. Yup I've got FNH in the blood.

+100! I've always   been a Jimmy Stewart man. He was the real deal, and worth ten of most of us, me included. The guy was a patriot who privately financed an Army Air corps, later UASAF training facility and served in the reserves to the point of becoming a general, and even flew a combat mission over Cambodia during Vietnam, and not for publicity either. It was hushed up. That guy really was the "quiet American".
