More NJ Battles
« on: April 30, 2013, 01:27:24 PM »
The NJ Senate today is considering so many anti gun bills you can't get a good count on HOW many. They have shifted the time twice and added a second day of deliberations to try to thwart attendance by patriots.
They also trotted out some of the Sandy Hook families.  It's damned despicable.

Stalag New Jersey indeed jay,......The "Big" Man Christies decision to sign off on several if not all of these is very possible.

Chris Christie’s Gun Crime Solution: Ban .50 Caliber Rifles
Posted on April 20, 2013 by Dan Zimmerman

Given the civilian disarmers’ wish list presented to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie by the SAFE Task Force he created to examine ways to further encroach on the Second Amendment rights in his state, yesterday’s announcement of the new proposals he intends to push isn’t nearly as bad as they might have been. Other than throwing more money (that the state doesn’t have) at mental health programs and requiring a parent to sign off before junior can take home the latest Gears of War, if Chris gets his way, prospective gun owners will have to . . .

…show their driver’s license in addition to their permit when buying a gun. That’s the same driver’s license they had to show to procure the state’s blessing and a Firearm Purchaser Identification Card in the first place. Useless? Yep. PITA? Meh.

But then there’s the big one. The measure that’s sure to make all the difference and send a chill down the spines of every Newark and Jersey City street thug. The Gov wants to ban the purchase of Barrett .50 cal rifles. Does it matter that you can probably count the number of crimes committed in the nation’s armpit with a .50 BMG on zero fingers? Apparently not.

“The package of bills Christie is sending the Legislature includes only a few that are direct gun-control measures,” usatoday.com reports. True enough. Conspicuous by its absence is an arbitrary magazine capacity limit. Well, a more arbitrary one. Jersey already has a 15 round max. No Internet ammo purchase prohibition or further restrictions on private gun sales, either.

The Governor apparently looked across the Hudson and decided that he wanted no part of Andy Cuomo’s little disaster. Or the court fights that would likely follow. But don’t let your guard down Garden Staters. The legislature’s bound to make a bad bill worse.

A cynic might view the Governor’s limited list (for a northeastern anti-gun state) of proposals and conclude that this will allow him to say that he’s “done something” about gun violence, while still leaving him a viable candidate for national office. Thank God no one around here is that cynical.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Meanwhile, yesterday the NJ Senate passed ALL anti-gun measures being considered out of committee. Thousands of pro-gun citizens at their hearings meant nothing. They listened to the CT citizens bussed-in. Come election time we will do all we can to destroy some political careers. Trouble is, these boneheads seem to get back in no matter what silly turds they shine up while in office.

Yesterday the NJ "ASS-embly" committee was getting ready to ram through the Senate's "Centerpiece" legislation. A few pro gunners got to testify and they initiated the vote, but things fell into chaos when they realized they didn't have enough Democrat votes to push it through.
They immediately went into a separate room for a secret meeting. They tabled the bill.
The way they scheduled the hearing was unethical - two days prior. They way they stopped in mid-vote is said to totally break procedural rules, and what is suspected is that they'll re-arrange the committee, move it to a different committee, or come in with a bill tacked onto something else.
They just don't get it. It's a turd and we don't want it. Now it's down to ego and political swordfighting.

Those are your new Democrap voters.
They'll probably make a circuit and hit as many polling places as they can.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

An update for those of you who follow the scum sucking chicanery of itty bitty people in our government, following an abrupt cancellation of the vote-in-progress (which is, I think, illegal)  on gun control legislation in the Law and Public Safety Committee of the NJ senate, the bill was moved to the Budget Committee where the motherless bastards had a majority, and it was passed out of committee yesterday.

Good thing for these guys that gun owners are such a judicious and law-abiding bunch.

Well, you do have one very large thing going for you. Christie seems to want to run in 2016. He's in trouble for being grateful to BO for the post Sandy response (even though that should have been a moment beyond politics). Still, if he signs an anti-gun bill, he can kiss any chance of winning the GOP nomination goodbye. He'll ban .50s (thus pissing off all two dozen people in NJ who own one) and  appear "reasonable". But if he signs onto to serious gun control? Stick a fork in his fat ass, as he'll never get the nomination, even if he appears at the 1st debate with Chuck Schumer's still bleeding head in his hands. No veto? No shot at the White House.
