Between this and the chainsaw attachment,.....Hmmm.... ::)

But you need the mount...

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/05/16/inteliscope-iphone-riflescope-2/

The Inteliscope is a picatinny mount for the iPhone which unlike, other phone picatinny mounts which we have blogged about before that mount a smartphone for use as a ballistic heads up display, allows the phone to be used as a digital scope.

An app for the phone overlays a reticle on iPhone camera’s video feed, as well as other useful ballistic and weather information. The app also allows the user to digitally zoom in up to 5x and can act as a shot timer.

Instagram-like video filter effects can be used to simulate shooting using a thermal scope (see the photo above). This may be gimmicky, but I can see people writing clever apps that can highlight movement on the screen, maybe drawing a box around moving objects (like a digital camera’s auto-focus) or highlighting a moving object in a bright color.

The Inteliscope (iPhone Touch, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4/4S) goes on sale next month and will cost $69.99.

The thing might be pretty smart.

I guess it has a GPS in there cause it displays longitude and latitude and heading.

It also displays  the wind direction and speed....guessing it fetched that using the GPS readings.

But then maybe I give it to much credit.  It thinks it's mounted on a Ruger Mini-14.

It talks about having a zoom, but I saw nothing about being able to zero it...but maybe that's ok if you never shoot with it.

I also have to wonder how recoil resistant and iPhone is.  Yeah...handling recoil was probably a primary design requirement.

It also looks pretty snag free and protected hanging out there like a side mirror.

The day I need a phone to shoot a gun is the day I'll take up golf. Then I'll have people telling me I need a putter like Rodney Dangerfield had in "Caddyshack".   ::)

Billt,

I think there is a mount and an app for the putter, too.

Will work for ammo

GoPro's are the shinizzle for pic and vid quality. I don't have one,..yet...but perhaps the USAF could share..

Keep your head on a swivel, and try to keep up....These vids are "almost" better than a rowdy country girl drunk on Southern Comfort who just "wants you Boy".... ;)

Where can I get that app?  ???

Just for the kicker....

Truly the bad a** ride of the skies.

Sorry, Pilots have to "make due" with the best of the automotive world,....Lambo's, Ferrari's, ZO-6, pass the time and are like watching an old porno movie....kinda the same ol, same ol,...

But not in a whoop ass multi million dollar aircraft. Good pilots are coveted by our Country. and GD they'll have the planes they want.

Spank em' and crank em' from the P-47, P-51, F-4, F-16, F-18, F-117, and beyond,...kick ass and drive that stick....

Always need the best pilots!
