Sorry, it's a great story but it is not true. CEO that the story is talking about has been dead for a year. Some one made up a wopper and the Company is going after them.

PRESS RELEASE by Perazzi SPA

With regard to reports in the American press, in relation to an alleged arrest for "terrorism" by Daniele Perazzi (founder of Perazzi Armi SpA), we point out that the news is completely devoid of any foundation. Daniele Perazzi is however, unfortunately, failed to live for about a year. Even his son, Mauro, was last Saturday in the USA. As reported in the press is absolutely false. The company Perazzi, however, contrary to what is written, is familiar with the American legislation on weapons because of his extensive and well-known activities of marketing its products in the USA. Since it is difficult to think of simple error, it is believed that someone who has interests contrary to those of the Perazzi SpA, may have spread false and misleading information purposes only defamatory. The company has already instructed his lawyers to take the most appropriate actions, civil and criminal, in order to protect the brand represented and its activity, carried on the American market. Perazzi Armi SpA

Yea heard that this a.m. that it's not what the MSM cracks it up to be. Perazzi family said no family members were involved. Seems like a setup/hoax. Wonder who they will try to blame for the false reporting to LEO's or maybe it was LEO's under Gov. Chickenpoopers, son of Bloomberg orders.

According to MB's blog people who were there say it DID happen while the Perrazzi family, who were not there, say it didn't.
Sounds like possibly it was reported with an incorrect name .

Caught this on Codrea's site, and TTAG, soooooo more questions now?

Who was taken into custody? There were witnesses.

A big wig at the NRA saw "someone" taken away with the po-po, with some cases.

WTF?

If you go back to the Examiner story, they explain that it was the grandson of the founder. From the writer of the article:

“The bottom line is, I went through an extraordinary level of verification on this story before publishing it. If it turns out that it is, as the press release states, “completely devoid of any foundation,” that means someone went to extraordinary lengths to create and perpetuate a hoax story, and to draw me and others into it, and to smooth entry by using credible people.”

Hmmmmm.....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I don't think you should be allowed to plead the 5th when you are a elected/ appointed offical when it comes to goverment corruption.   there is no 5th in the miltary.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

A member of the military CAN invoke the 5th Amendment!  He may not be successful but he certainly has the right!  It's called an Article 31 of the UCMJ!

ART. 31. COMPULSORY SELF-INCRIMINATION PROHIBITED

(a) No person subject to this chapter may compel any person to incriminate himself or to answer any questions the answer to which may tend to incriminate him.

(b) No person subject to this chapter may interrogate, or request any statement from an accused or a person suspected of an offense without first informing him of the nature of the accusation and advising him that he does not have to make any statement regarding the offense of which he is accused or suspected and that any statement made by him may be used as evidence against him in a trial by court-martial.

(c) No person subject to this chapter may compel any person to make a statement or produce evidence before any military tribunal if the statement or evidence in not material to the issue and may tend to degrade him.

(d) No statement obtained from any person in violation of this article, or through the use of coercion, unlawful influence, or unlawful inducement may be received in evidence against him in a trial by court-martial.

It's never a bad time to correct an incorrect statement though!
