so I am headed to toronto for 8 days for work.   the gun is staying home, and so is the kershaw as they are a no no there.   So I am looking for a decent cheap and easy to find folder to take with me, any recomendations?   must have a clip( dumb law)      ps yes I thought about posting this in the blade section, but I leave sat.

its more about having a handy tool then anything else,  I feel naked with out one on me.   I use it all the time.

I have a Kershaw 1760 Skyline that retails about $40 at Wally world.  Light quick to open and holds a decent edge.  And it has a pocket clip too.

There's a company called Marlin (and no, its not the rifle company that also makes blades). This a seperate, el cheapo Chink made outfit. They make some very decent folders that are a ripoff of Benchmade's one handed openers for about 15 bucks. They have the outside studs to open them and the internal liner lock. The handle is metal and heavy, but solid. I have no idea about the blade or handle material or how long it will last. But, I picked one up at my local Ace Hardware (Its about a three inch blade if that's an issue), and I have used it as a tackle box disposable knife and for cutting cardboard where I didn't want to dull the Kershaw or Spyderco, for several months. Its worked fine. It dulls easily, but sharpens just fine with a V style sharpener. Not a knife I'd brag on, but for a disposable one handed opening back up (and it does have a clip)? It works great. I'd go on line and look. At the price point, if you lose it at the border, its no big deal, and it locks up solidly enough that I don't worry about my fingers. BUT for that price, YMMV, and caveat emptor. Hit an Ace hardware.
