MVP by Mossberg

Handled one yesterday in the LGS.  Just so-so on the build, fit and finish, mags wiggle and waggle too much.  Biggest complaint?  Doesn't anyone stock a rifle for more than a midget?  Jumpin' Jimminy, I had to lay my head sidewise on the stock to look through the mounted scope!

Overall, I was not impressed.  So unimpressed, I don't even remember the price, but it would have been too much.

It does, BTW, accept AR mags.  We put a DPMS, Colt, and some no-name in.  They all did the wiggle and waggle.

That's too bad, a decent, inexpensive AR will always have a market but junk will never sell for long.

There's "junk" and then there's "junk".
If your buying a plastic, or partly plastic, gun then you are going to care a lot more about reliability over cosmetics .
This isn't a Holland and Holland we're discussing.

I have a MVP Predator in 308 with a 18" barrel ordered. I sure hope it  as good as the reviews I read.

I know three guys that bought the MVP, and they all say it will drive tacks.  I work with one of them, and know he aint B.S.ing me.

Every body raves on the action, barrel, and trigger.  It just didn't do anything for me.

Other rifle companies should take note , I have wanted a Gunsite scout but Ruger takes a proprietary mag that are rare and expensive , and demand has the Ruger scout climbing to prices that are mind boggling

When I bought my Ruger SR-22 yesterday , I also walked out with a nice , brand new master catalog from Mossberg. All I got to say is wow - Mossberg has stepped it up - what a line up of products ! Enter mossberg MVP similar bolt 308 that will use same mags as my AR10- early reviews seem ok with regards to action and trigger

Are these the Mag-Pul, Stoner AR-10 mags that the DPMS .308 rifles accept as well?

I thought the MVP to be of less quality than any of the Remington's, or CZ's on the wall.  Were it me, I'd get the CZ 527 carbine in .223.  Cheaper than the Remington's of course, and comparable to CZ in price.  The CZ is limited to 5 round magazines currently though.
