Disney World gran finds gun on ride

ops...

Quote
A Walt Disney World patron on a ride with her grandson found a loaded gun on her seat, officials said.
Officials said that the woman found the pistol on the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom. The woman turned over the loaded weapon to a park attendant, who then contacted her manager and authorities.
The gun's owner, Angelo Lista, told authorities he discovered his gun was missing several minutes after leaving the ride. He has a concealed weapons permit.
Mr Lista told authorities he didn't know Disney World patrons weren't allowed to bring guns.
He said he thought the security checkpoint at the entrance to the Florida theme park was only so that guards could check bags for bombs or explosives. Patrons do not walk through metal detectors nor are they subject to patdowns.
Disney World, located in Luke Buena Vista, Florida, prohibits patrons from bringing weapons of any kind on its property.
It comes in the same week that police arrested a 22-year-old Disneyland employee on suspicion of placing a so-called dry ice bomb in a trash can at the theme park.
Nobody was injured in the small blast on Tuesday in the Mickey's Toontown section of the popular park in Anaheim, southeast of Los Angeles.
Christian Barnes, described as an "outdoor vending cast member," was arrested late Tuesday on suspicion of possessing a destructive device,

Do "gun free zones" carry the weight of law in FL?  There are many states that the words on the sign aren't worth the paper they're printed on, MN being one of them.
Bravery and stupidity are often synonymous.  So are cowardice and intelligence.

"We Americans have been a rebellious band of freedom loving vagabonds from the very beginning. Our freedom from the crown and tyranny would not exist had it not been for the gun. That's a tradition we like to hold on to.  The same can't be said for the rest of you 'Subjects of the Queen'."--said to a Canadian friend who just doesn't get it.

I question how patrons are notified.  We went to Bush Gardens, and saw no posting of no weapons of any type, but a call to their customer service informed me that "all weapons are banned."  Now the questions is, how do you differentiate a tool knife and a weapon knife?

it does not matter rather the sign had the weight of law or not.  The guy lost in gun, and in a place where a minor could have got thier hands on it.   that is inexucsable I my book.     on another note, the Disney security is no joke, they don't mess around. Thats not to say is a place where crime does not happen, as it happens every where.  They will eject you at will and will file any and all charges against you.  No bs I have worked at nuke plants and at disney land ( both for industrail coatings)  disney lands back lot security was better.

We are broadly talking fruit here tab:

Apples - The guy screwed up, and his firearm came out of its holster - YES, his bad;

Oranges - Should he have had a firearm there - We don't know?  What does the law say?

In Minnesota, as stated earlier, posting is a joke.  I carry right past those signs every day.  I carry at Twins games, I carry at Vikings games, I carry in stores, and I carry at the State Capitol - Legal, legal, legal, and legal!

Know your laws and follow them - Did he pass or fail, we want to know.

Handle your gun and be responsible - He failed!

I checked handgunlaw.us and it say that in FL, signs do not carry the weight of law.

To me, they had a sign saying not to carry, you don't carry.   its a respect thing for me.   its also why I am a big fan of tx  30.06 law.   reguardless of the law, he needs to lose his ccw.  He fucked up and fucked up big time.

TAB, your so eager to yank any ones CCW for any screw up .
What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not get ?
If you want to get right down to brass tacks, there is no Constitutional requirement for responsible conduct included in any of the Bill of Rights , if there were MSNBC would not be on the air.

no, but most states do have laws.  Reality is the uscons, does not say felons should not own a gun either,   it does not say alot of things.  Thats besides the point.  I am a firm beleaver, that if you want to cary a gun, there is a responcibilty that goes with it.
