The Police offered her an apology, so long as she doesn't file a lawsuit?!?!   ::)

I'd settle for nothing less than an apology, the officers involved jobs, and a nice little check.  Take the money and donate it to a local charity and move.

Screw that "donate it" to your local LGS for EBRs or to your local public defender's office, whichever you think will piss them off more.
