Toddlers and Tiaras
« on: June 23, 2013, 04:54:22 PM »
Ok, I was flipping channels and I saw a few minutes of this show. I almost threw up a little in my mouth. Is it me or does anyone else want to call in child services on the parents and arrest any single guy in the crowd on general principles? I mean for lord's sake, who in their right minds thinks that its a good idea to sexualize a five year old and teach her that she wins approval for looking sexy and performing in public? On what planet is this how you want to teach your daughter to act? Sign her up for soccer or T-ball or the Brownies, or ceramics or anything, but if you teach her to strut her stuff for applause at five, what do think you're going to get when she's seventeen? I am speechless.

Rant over.

Where are we now??????

what is worse more is how the mothers act,

now our little one,  she loves it up on stage,     not only dose she do theatre,  she dose Callisthenics  ( some on here that are on my FB  would of seen the video of her performances )

she also used to Cheerlead  for a local footy team ( Aussie rules )    however a few of the kids would teas her and the coaches tried to stop it  however it did not,  so she finished the season and did not want to continue    it was a shame as she liked it,

we engorage her to do what she wants to try out  and also if she commits to something at least see the season out till the end.
however what you see on that show is just plane crazy,  how would the kids know any different though as they get in it so young.  and pushed and pushed   like it is the parents wishing it was them doing it them selves,  instead using the kids to do all the dirty work.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

In most cases that's exactly what it is .
Mommy living her fantasy through her daughter.

And it's not just in areas like this....you see it in youth sports also......mommy and daddy reliving their youth through their kids, or living out something they could not do in their youth ..... and the classic case of pressuring the kid to excel, not for the sake of the kid's future, but hoping for future millions with a pro contract.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

In this case I think the only pro contract these little are being prepared for is as a pole dancer.
