Ruger MkIII trigger?

I've had a 45/22 lightweight on my "Bud's" wish list for a few day now but I had to take a drive to Cabela's Buda today on another matter and had the chance to play with one (at the same price!). Whilst there they let me try the trigger - WHICH WAS HORRIBLE!!

I like everything about it but that - what are my options for making it better?

See if you can bargain with Cabelas to get their gunsmith to install it for you free if you buy the pistol there. I mean they're paying the guy anyway.

Consider dropping in the Mk II accurizing kit and getting rid of the godawful magazine safety. I take out the slide stop detent while I am in there. It is well worth the $, and not as hard as it seems on first glance.

I see the problem.  You got it backwards.  It's a 22/45.  Unless of course this is a brand new model.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it was a typo and I'm a pain in the patootee.

In seriousness, it's taken me a while to remember to go down and pull mine out of the safe.  Fairly recent model and it has a great trigger.  A medium length very soft take-up then a fairly crisp and sudden let-off with almost no creep.   I'm wondering if just a little more polishing at the factory was all that was missing.

I'd either wait for one with a better trigger or see if the store smith would take a look at if for free and maybe just touch up the surfaces a bit, before you buy it.

I suspect that I was thinking of TAB's new model, the 45-22-32........

and you are of course correct, those pistols seem to be available in a few places for about $375 with free delivery so I think I'll just take a chance & buy one.
