I get AA and AAA in bulk packs from Sam's........I can get four dozen for what two dozen Energizers cost in Wal-mart and they last just as long. The AA give great longevity in my digital camera, and the AAA last forever in my two pocket flashlights (120 lumens)........ but I change them out every four months just to keep the light as bright as possible and put the used batteries in a zip-lock bag to be used in things lie tv remotes and such to maximize value.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I dont have torches that carry the standard batteries any more, all mine carry either the 18650 or the rcr123 lithium rechargables.
Just for the fact that I use them mainly for hunting etc and we are not subject to large natural disasters that you guys are cept maybe bush fires and if that happens I have a genny I can use for lighting, fridge and if necessary recharging them.
I suppose it would be a prudent thing to get a couple of AA/AAA run torches though for just in case.
