Skip Coryell – It’s July 4th, so I celebrated my independence by weeding the garden. At least I can be free from hunger this year.

As I was working in the dirt and the hot sun, I heard my cell phone vibrate in my pocket, so I took it out and checked the email. (I’m an email junkie.) I was surprised to see a message from Adam Kokesh, the man who announced a peaceful, armed march on Washington DC way back in May.

Then he was arrested by the federal government and spent several days in a federal detention center in Philadelphia before being released. (It was probably just a coincidence. Lol )  Originally charged with a felony for striking a federal officer and for resisting arrest, the charges were reduced from felonies to civil infractions.

It’s important to note I viewed the vieotapes of the arrest and no such felonies occurred. It appeared to me Adam was being arrested illegally. In his own words, “I was arrested for illegal use of a microphone.”

Sitting in the dirt, I read the following email:

“Can you count the felonies committed in this video? No, you can’t possibly count them all.”

There was also a URL link to a Youtube video. I tried to load it up on my Iphone, but I live in the boondocks and my cell service sucks. So I picked myself up and went into the house to view it on my laptop.

I smiled in surprise as I watched Adam Kokesh on a busy Washington DC street with the silhouette of the Capitol building behind him. I could hear lots of traffic in the background, and Adam was holding a large, twelve gauge pump shotgun about chest level. And then he spoke while loading the shotgun one round at a time.

“We will not be silent!

We will not obey!

We will not allow the government to destroy our humanity!

We are the final American revolution!

See you next Independence Day!”

Wow! In my last article I made the following statement:

“Adam Kokesh has balls you could shoot through a cannon, and I have to respect that. He believes vehemently in his cause and is willing to go to prison for it.”

He's getting his wish,,,,

Seems the possession of those "magic" mushrooms, and that vid, got him arrested with full flash bang heavily armed po-po.

For those who missed the vid. Only 23 seconds.

Remember NBC's Meet The Press schmuck David Gregory brought a 30rd mag to the D.C. studio, (also against the law),...but got a pass.

Adam Kokesh charged with possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms

By Trishula Patel and Justin Jouvenal, Updated: Wednesday, July 10, 2:05 PM E-mail the writer

Police searched the Northern Virginia home of activist Adam Kokesh Tuesday evening and took him into custody on a charge of being in possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms while also having a gun, authorities said.

Kokesh, a former Marine, was held overnight at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, charged with possession of schedule I or II drugs while in possession of a firearm, said Lt. Steve Elbert, a spokesman for the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office.

A video posted on YouTube that appears to show activist Adam Kokesh loading a shotgun in Freedom Plaza.

Kokesh refused to be fingerprinted or arraigned, or to speak with court officials on Wednesday morning, said Nancy Lake, Clerk of the Fairfax County General District Court.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 2.

“We were expecting this. We were expecting the government to raid our house,” Darrell Young, Kokesh’s roommate, told WRC-TV (Channel 4).

U.S. Park Police Lt. Pamela Smith said her agency executed a search warrant at Kokesh’s home in Herndon about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, looking for a weapon. The park police are the federal agency responsible for policing Freedom Plaza, the concrete park a few blocks from the White House where — in a video posted to YouTube on July 4 — Kokesh appears to load a shotgun in violation of D.C. gun laws.

Smith said she did not know if the YouTube video was the reason for the search warrant. Carrying a loaded weapon, concealed or unconcealed, is against the law in the District. The possession of a firearm not registered in the District carries a penalty up to a year in prison.

“We will not be silent. We will not obey,” Kokesh says in the video. “We will not allow our government to destroy our humanity. We are the final American Revolution. See you next Independence Day.”

Herndon police assisted in the search, a communications technician from the department said. But she declined to provide details.

According to a news release posted on Kokesh’s Web site, police in cars and helicopters approached Kokesh’s house in Herndon, a suburb 25 miles west of Washington, about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and staged an “armed invasion.” The house is in the 1500 block of Snow Flake Court.

Kokesh’s five roommates provided the following account of the raid to the Washington Post. Park police could not be immediately reached for comment, and the details could not be independently verified.

After police knocked on the front door of the single-family home, the roommates said, officers kicked it in and threw a flash bang grenade inside.

They said some of the roommates headed for a back door, only to find members of a U.S. Park Police SWAT team pointing guns at them. The roommates said more than one police helicopter circled over or near the house during the search.

At least five people inside were handcuffed as officers spent about five hours combing through the house, they said.

A roommate who saw the search warrant said police were looking for the shotgun Kokesh allegedly used in a July 4th video and materials related to the creation of the video. The roommates said officers removed the shotgun, files and a some unknown items that were taken from a safe that police drilled open.

The mushrooms were either planted and this dude is being set up, or he's an idiot.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Story update:

Quote
An activist who posted a video of himself loading a gun in D.C.'s Freedom Plaza is facing charges.

Adam Kokesh of Herndon, Va., appeared Friday in D.C. Superior Court and was ordered held pending a detention hearing Monday. He is charged with one count of openly carrying the weapon in violation of District of Columbia law.

Court documents allege that on July 4, he went to the city's Freedom Plaza and publically loaded four rounds of ammunition into the weapon. A video of him loading the gun posted on YouTube lists "Adam Kokesh" as the video's source.

He faces up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $5,000 if convicted.

Kokesh's attorney said he needed to speak to his client further before talking with the media.

His only mistake was not using it after he loaded it.
If Al Queda promised to nuke Washington I would probably join.

I think you mean DC was the least honest....

But that is understandable...when you steal billions from those you should be working for, a $ bottle of tea is peanuts.
