New (to me) S&W Model 15
« on: July 12, 2013, 04:43:28 PM »
(-4) Combat Masterpiece.

just arrived today and in better shape that I had dared to hope. Everything very tight and only slight holster wear. Somewhere between 1977 & 1982, a joy to plink with of course.
Best Wishes, Mike.

I have it's twin.  Shows much more wear though.  Even some light pitting in two spots.  Carried daily for six  years.  Used monthly for quals and fam fires weekly.  Tens of thousands of rounds downrange with her.  I might even still have the original grips.

It's sort of a retro trip for me, if anyone has a K Frame (sq.) Tyler T-Grip lying around doing nothing I'll pay good money for it!
Best Wishes, Mike.

Nice catch.

Known formerly as the K-38.  (get it?  K frame, .38 caliber)  The -4 model was the last to have a pinned barrel.  1977-1982.  Can't tell from the pictures but may also have the trigger stop. (A slot behind the trigger.)

The K38 is father/grandfather to the current Model 10, 19 and 66.

Will work for ammo

Nice revo.  My -3 was for the wife 'cause I don't like cleaning the 1/10" of carbon out of the M19 from 38 spl.

Both of mine. A Model 14 with the full lug barrel. And a Model 15.

S&W wheel guns are like classic cars. If well maintained and cared for, will last forever, always be collectable, and provide countless years of reliable performance.

and if you put in in the ol' nightstand for that bump in the night, it will work for that also.

Very sweet Bic. Congrats!!!
