Slidefire Review
« on: July 25, 2013, 12:26:17 PM »
I could not resist the urge to get the Slidefire Stock for my Bushmaster AR-15.  If you have been hiding under a rock and are not familiar with it, it is a bumpfire stock that allows you to shoot in a simulated full-auto manner without breaking any rules since it is a trigger pull for every round you shoot.

Would I rather have a full auto?  Yes.  Do I have the bank to get one?  No.  For $359 plus shipping (Thank you Larry P for getting it to me quickly and on-time as always!) and a 3 minute install you can throw a lot of lead down range very quickly.  Someone at the range who really knows what he is talking about commented that it sounded about twice as fast as an M-16 saying he bet it was 11-1,200 rounds per minute!  Very fun to shoot!

It says it might not work well with match grade triggers and winter trigger guards, I have both and it worked very well.  Mine is a 3lb single stage YMMV.

Overall, it worked exactly as advertised, was fun to shoot and I am glad I got it.  Will I probably go back to my everyday setup?  Probably.  I just bought a lower and sent in my paperwork for an SBR so at least the Slidefire will have a good home in about 8-9 months when I get my stamp.

Agreed!  That's throwing a bunch of dollars away really fast.

And in reality, a well-placed shot is going to be more effective than a "spray and pray" technique.

Still...  It really does sound like fun.

“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

I totally agree, this is strictly just for fun....and the zombie apocalypse of course.
