Intense training as real life as it gets
« on: July 29, 2013, 12:20:55 AM »
I hope this is in the correct place if not please forgive me.
I attended a class with    http://www.troyumus.com/ on the RRTC  and this is about as closs to real as it gets, the videos don't do it justice, I and about 24 other folks ranging from pro shooters to fairly new new self defense attended this class and there wasn't a one who wasn't shaking after going threw one of these drills.

If you want an incredible experience go see those guys, you learn alot.

One thing a lot of video trainers lack is movement.  I call it flat footed training.  FATS, for example, you just stand in one place and face the screen.  It's strictly drilling on the shoot/no-shoot decision.   But there's so much more.  Movement and seeking cover should be part of some of the scenarios.  It looks like Troysgate may incorporate movement as part of their training where applicable.

This is not a video trainer..

Thats the thing  about it its not a video projection those are real people that are acting and shooting back,
Its live real action that changes from second to the next, no 2 scenarios are the same as its real people on both side that are useing REAL LIVE AMMO, thats the amazing feature about this new training system..

Sorry, I mistook the mirrors for screens.   Still the better, as the "subjects" respond to your actions.   So much better than flat footed video trainers.

The reflective material  reflects like mirrors and is what you shoot at it is he innovative part, one the scenario starts the "mirror look disappears" and what your left with is a bad guy you have no choice but to react to.

It rely is incredible. You get the full psychological effects from it ,tunnel vision, hearing, adrenaline kicks in your literally shaken for a little afterwards.

Its the most amazing training session of its type ive ever attended and ive attended several, a few at was was blackwater usa and this has them all beat by a long shot. This is the first time ive never even noticed the sights and the funny thing is nobody does when doing this intense of a type of training session.

Some of his clients are the US navy seals, US secret service so this isnt some rinky dink place, If you ever in NC and can get a chance go try it out you want regret it.
Ok ill stop babbleing this place is just to awsome.
