Here in the slave state of NJ where our masters tell us what Constitutionally guaranteed rights we can and cannot practice, and how much it will cost us, there is a small glimmer of warm light. I received this letter from my state Senator yesterday. I've met him several times and he has helped us twice with family matters. A good man.

“I know that in the past you have written to me and my Assembly colleagues, Sgt. Bob Andrzejczak and Nelson Albano, about your position on 2nd Amendment rights and expressing your concern about how we voted on the new pieces of anti-gun legislation that would further restrict law abiding gun owners.

Let me be clear: we voted ‘no’ on any and all bills that restreicted the rights of legal gun owners, and you can check this statement online!

I am a member of the NRA as well as the 2nd Amendment Society, as are Assemblymen Albano and Andrzejczak. We have kept our word and will continue to keep our work to you.

Again, thanks for contacting me and please do not hesitate to do so again at any time. In the meantime, Assemblymen Andrzejczak, Albano, and I wish you a safe and enjoyable summer season.

I knew someone would say that Alf, I just wasn't in the correct frame of mind to do it with any tact.  Gun control is part of the Democrat platform, along with all the other infringements on out civil liberties.  I admit Repubicans aren't perfect but that is our fault and we are responsible for who we elect so it time for some serious change that starts at the grassroots.

The Rabbit is pretty correct for a Florida dwelling friend, but you must also consider that this is NJ. Best case scenario, a Republican around here means you get someone like Christi, or worse. ALL the pols here conspire against our money, our rights and our nation.
They are all EQUAL except on the issue of 2A, and I am proudly now a ONE ISSUE voter. If there's ever a choice between two pro-2A candidates, well then I"ll have to think a little I guess, but right now my choice is easy.

The Rep party wants to appeal to Independents and swing more conservative Dems to their side. They think the way to do it is to become more progressive, i.e.,Christi.
They don't get it that there's a hell of a lot of people who really have values and love liberty. The ones that aren't standing there with their hands out saying, "Where's my free shit?" 
Unfortunately, there seems to be more numbers of freeloaders and not enough go-getters to vote this country back to it's original values.
We are watching this nation crumble under the weight of massive debt and can't do a damn thing about it.
