CAmp carbine
« on: August 11, 2013, 05:28:33 PM »
I am thinking about picking one up in 45 acp, for a plnker/ pest killer.   I am also thinking about having it threaded for supressed use.   anyone done that?  did you have to do anything to the gun to make it work?

I'm not been able to verify this, but I have heard that a few, very few were factory threaded on the muzzle and fitted with flash hiders.

If you google Marlin Camp Carbine, you can see images of Camp Carbines with integrally suppressed barrels.

Any gunsmith should be able to refer you for threading.

I have a Ruger 77/44 bolt action 44mag integrally suppressed...not a carbine and not automatic but about 1/2 the noise of 22 air pellet gun with subsonic rounds.  But if you fail on the Camp Carbine...how about a semi MP-5 suppressed?

I had a Camp Carbine in 9.    I didn't think about a suppressor on it.  That might be a good idea.  I couldn't remember the barrel profile, so here's a picture of mine (I sold it so don't have it anymore.)

There appears to be plenty of barrel to thread.  Will make it a little ungainly though.

The only reason I didn't get one is because all my .45s use double column mags and the camp carbine is a single. If the mags were compatible I'd buy one.
