Traveling through Navajo Nation with firearms
« on: August 26, 2013, 11:26:29 AM »
I'm about to embark on a cross country road trip to see the Southwest.  I've been double checking laws in NM, AZ, UT, and CO where we will be camping and visiting National Parks/Monuments.  My permit is honored in AZ, UT, and CO.  My biggest concern is that I just remembered that I will have to travel through Navajo lands leaving the Grand Canyon and to Monument Valley and UT.  I can unhappily lock my guns up as required in some areas, but I want to be able to maintain them throughout the trip.

Does anyone have any solid links or experience traveling this area with firearms given the weird Laws on tribal lands?

As long as you are on state/ federal roads/hwy you are fine,  county(maybe) and tribe roads  you have to fallow thier rules.  Since every tribe is diffrent, its best to contact them in advance.  Each one is diffrent.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
