Any M&P.45 users out there?

I've had my M&P .45 for about a year. After about a thousand rounds with no issues, I decided that the trigger, while ok, could use a little love. Mike LaRocca did the work and now I have about a 4 lb pull, no creep and very short reset; money well spent. The slide will sometimes release and chamber a round on its own when seating a fresh mag. I consider that a feature instead of a bug. I had the opportunity to torture test the .40 and the 9 minimum a couple of years ago. We put 5K rounds through both guns, shooting more for speed of rounds downrange rather than accuracy. Every 100 rds. shooters were changed and temperature readings were taken. We were unable to make either gun choke; although one young lady singed her finger on a hot slide. I bought the gun as soon as it came out in my preferred caliber. If I had to take a pistol to a gunfight, it would be the M&P. The only other mod was a 10-8 rear sight and a F/O front. Excellent weapon, highly recommended; I consider it ergonomically superior to the Glunk and the ability to swap backstraps as well as the mag release position are a big asset. My gun has the external safety but not the mag one. End of infomercial.

I purchased the .40 first (pre .45).  Great gun no problems.  I'm a sucker for the thumb saftey so i traded it in when the .45 was available.  I've had it for nearly a year plus my two mags, gratis, but missed out on the $50 deal.  One plus (at least for me) the .45 can fire without a mag.  The .40 I had wouldn't.  There has been plenty of rounds downrange (3000+) and no problems to speak of.  Another feature I like are how the backstraps are made.  Several pistols have a slide in insert.  The M&P's are more shaped to fit the hand (and its my understanding that the CT grips that fit the 9mm and the .40 should also fit the .45 but don't take my word for it as I don't own them (yet). Overall, thumbs up on the M&P line o shootin' iron or shootin' polymer. You know the gun thingy.  Sleep calls

Just had my trigger job by Kevin Toothman @ USSA and my group shrank appreciably.  I imagine you have the same storyon group size.  I measured my current pull and it averages 4# 5 oz.  Good for what I need it for since it is for personal defense not hunting.  I wish I had measured the pull before the work...it's much better now so there's no telling what it was.

CT does make a laser for the .45, but it doesn't fit the ambidextrous safety. At least not w/o modification. I LOVE my m&p 45. Revieved the rebate after about 4-6 weeks, and the mags a week later. have only put a couple of hundred rounds through it, but no problems so far.
