You're going to enjoy the FNP9.  I do believe my FNP9 is more accurate than my SR9 but it's been so long since I've shot the SR9 it's difficult to recall.  Once they get the trigger issue resolved I would recommend adding a SR9 to your collection - it's hard to have too many high capacity 9mms.

I wanted a P3AT in .380, and was told by my local gun shop "Get on the list" No mention how long it would take. Just like the SR9 and the LCP.

So, I went to GunsAmerica.com. shopped around and found dealers with plenty of them all. Called the 800 number for AJC Sports in Texas, spoke with a very professional salesman, and had one transferred for $25 to my local gun shop. Had it in 3 days.

Congratulations on the FN9, heard good things about them.

I just can't "get on the list", when they are out there. 8)

Happy Memorial Day.

I picked up my FNP9 from Gunbrokers.com.  Even after the $20 shipping and $20 the local FFT charged to handle it I still got it for less than what the local gun shop wanted (not including sales tax that would have been tacked on to it as well).  And the one I got had night sites whereas the local ones did not.  There are only three places in town to buy hand guns and while I am a firm believer in supporting the local business community they have to do their part in staying competitive as well.

Yes, except the SR9s that are out there are probably all on the recall notice. So you CAN order them and get them but (according to Ruger) they shouldn't be loaded or fired until corrected in the recall. So they'll SELL you a recalled gun, but you assume a large liability if you take it to a public place and fire it.

I'm not tired of them not shipping SR9s. I'm tired of them not fixing mine.

......I'm not tired of them not shipping SR9s. I'm tired of them not fixing mine.

Me too.  I hope they can provide a really good, world class trigger after having to go back the 2nd time (not enough time to do it right the first time????).  If I can get a great trigger I'll buy another so...I'm attempting to be patient from time to time in hopes of having something better than I bought.

I like the feel of the weapon so well in addition to it's weight that it would be a shame to discontinue it.

Oh...one more thing...redesign the levers.  Add a little length to them so they can be operated with less force...this plus a good trigger and I will definitely buy another one or two (gotta have something in the hopper to pass down after the new administration comes in).

since the sr9 was my first handgun purchase i'm slightly partial to it.  howerver the recall did slightly shake my faith in ruger.  i hope that they begin to ship soon.. they quoted me the end of this month begining of next... they said they were having difficulties with the retro-fit, and that they were going to ship the boxes in several waves in order to prevent a large stock of the pistols sitting in the factory waiting to get fixed.

I had a soft spot in my heart for the Browning BDM, hoping it would be the HiPower of the 80's, but despite its goodness (great handle, good capacity, DA/SA) it was relegated to curiosity.

I never touched the Forty-Nine, but it didn't impress me or the buying public much.

I hope the FNP series gets the monster boost of its sheer quality in an era where "HK hates you, and you suck" might turn them off of the extremely similar USP.  Again - great handle, great capacity, great controls, and it comes in two-tone (HK sucks for dropping the stainless slides on their USPs).
