$3.4M settlement in Tucson 2011 SWAT shooting of innocnet man.
« on: September 24, 2013, 04:12:23 PM »
You might recall the incident where a SWAT team that broke into a citizens house and shot and killed the owner who thought he and his wife were being assaulted by home invaders.

He was armed with an AR, but he fired no rounds and the safety was still on when he was shot and killed.  The citizen managed to maintain shot discipline and hold his fire until he was sure the armed men in his house where a threat.  That the SWAT team didn't care as much about the safety of innocents cost him his life.

Story, pictures and video at link.

Note the picture that shows the shell casing of the rounds the SWAT team felt a need to fire.

In the video, note the SWAT team member how runs to the door after the shooting starts, sticks his hand gun past members already shooting in the door just to get a few rounds down range and maybe score a kill.

It was also reported that there was a long delay before the SWAT team called for medical assistance for the innocent victim, which was said at the time to have insured he would not survive.

In this story a statement by the department spokesperson said the payment is not an admission of guilt.

Well, no admission is needed.  The incident and video speak for themselves.

Yeah, 3.4 mil is nice, but people should be on death row for this "mistake"

That 911 operator needs her ass kicking for being a bitch.
She wasted a good two minutes

Absolutely.

Honestly, there might be some grounds for a defense about the SWAT team opening fire on an armed man...MAYBE, somehow, it looked like a real threat, but that hour wait before allowing the innocent man they show 22 times to get medical assistance cannot be written off as negligence of anykind...

That was murder plain and clear.

Similar to the North Hollywood bank robber that was left to bleed out on the street.
I can almost believe that version (the lie was better) - large area to secure, possibility of other shooters nearby in one of the businesses, like I said, almost.

This was a single family home.
It would have taken a fully geared up and assembled SWAT team what, 10 minutes MAX to clear it?
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.
