Tom Clancy died
« on: October 02, 2013, 03:33:51 PM »
Tom Clancy dead at 66 years young.  I loved his books.

Celebrated author Tom Clancy, who became famous for best-sellers like “The Hunt for Red October” and “Patriot Games,” died on Tuesday. He was 66.

Damn, Vince Flynn only died a couple months ago.
I hope Clive Cussler hangs in there a few more years.

I know what you mean. Vince Flynn was a Minnesota boy who done good. I enjoyed Clancey, too. I like that he brought Jack Ryan, Sr back in as a character. At 66 Clancy was still relatively young as things go today.

Stephen Hunter better start taking care of himself!  ;D

But seriously Tom Clancy spun a good yarn as did Mr. Flynn and both will be missed.

66 is waaaay too young for the final trip.

I say that as a man of 65, so there is a personal bias.

Clancy's many tales accompanied me on so very many business trips.  His stories were plausible and reflected a deep understanding of our military.

As one who crossed the 65 line this past summer, I to say he was waaaay to young, also.
