Show #339 AR Pistol
« on: October 30, 2013, 11:37:50 PM »
I recently assembled an AR Pistol on a stripped lower and I like the concept plus it's a lot of fun. Michael says he uses his for defense. My question is how do you deal with the muzzle blast! This thing will crush your ear drums. Do you carry any type of hearing protection in case you have to use it to defend yourself. As a side note, when shot from a rest it will keep up with any rifle I have up to 50 yards using the same type of sights.

A buddy of mine has a SBR, ~10" barrel.  Sadistic little punk had a muzzle break on it-MR. BLASTY we called it.  Felt like someone was setting off firecrackers in your face, but it was FUN to shoot.  I double up on hearing protection, plugs under electronic muffs, but other than that you really don't notice the blast... it's more the lack of muzzle blast afterward that you notice.   ;D
