EBT
« on: November 01, 2013, 08:58:24 AM »
Warning:  This is a work related rant.  When I fell asleep reading government rules for my job last night I had put in 49 hours with two days to go.

I am seeing several news items in the newspapers today proclaiming that EBT cards are accepted at different places (typically photos of business fronts).  These are tied to news stories that starting today there are cuts in the program.  There are also rants showing up that we are starving and killing children.

Don't show me a photo of the front door of a Pappa Murphy's Pizza with a sign that says this fast food joint accepts EBT and then try and make me feel guilty that there are cuts coming to the program!

Even with my wasted time doing stuff like this on here I put in a minimum of 60 hours per week at my salaried job, and I do side consulting for a few dollars to try and pay the bills.  Due to the Mrs.' health issues we are adding up our out of pocket for hospital, doctors, my lodging for a week during her surgery, etc.  I refuse to feel bad if you loose the ability to purchase junk with my money!  I'm fat and out of shape, because I use my money to buy and eat junk.  However, I am only responsible to provide you with good food.  If you want to look like me you can go out and get a damn job!
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Screw that, I'm not responsible to provide anyone with anything. If they don't want to starve to death they can go out and get a damn job.

Friends of ours have a no-account son who doesn't work and lives with an unemployed older woman and her granddaughter, they live in public housing for $11.00 a month.

Friday Rush was saying that a family of four could get $660.00 a month on the EBT card. Food, housing and an Obama phone and I think you have your basic needs met for being a parasite on the rest of us.

We have the richest poor people in the world as well as the most comfortable in their poverty!

A family of 4 is considered to be "living in poverty" if they make less than $23,550.

Compare that to Africa where the average poor person earns less than a dollar a day.

Well, dang.   We need to send them free cell phones.

That's sarcasm...but the first use of a cell phone for someone truly poor would be to sell it for something that was needed.

Stealing from tax payers to pay for it aside, the money is wasted on something not necessary.

Not really.
Most of them were traded for drugs, so that is one robbery per parasite that was prevented.

 >:(  Not only do they complain to us about how we are taking food out of their mouth, no one can ever remember back to the first of this year when the taxes went up and took food out of our (the hard working, honest taxpayer) mouths and to pay for more people to get on the government teat than ever!
