Speaking of which...

http://www.nranews.com/commentators/video/austin-weiss-profile

Meet the newest NRA News Commentator Austin Weiss, a guy with an affinity for beautifully crafted machines who splits his time between designing custom-built cars and motorcycles and taking a stand for firearms and the Second Amendment.

Looks like the NRA saw this coming...
I can't understand people who think banning guns makes them safer. They must also believe that banning books makes them smarter.

I seem to remember him stating that he pulled the plug on Monster Garage and the other shows he was on because he didn't like being a celebrity and just wanted to build bikes.  To be fair, the paparazzi are the ones who kept him in the limelight, especially when he married a movie star and got busted running around.  For the most part, he always seemed to be respectful to all of the regular joes on his shows and treat them how they deserved to be treated.  He seemed to be a pretty nice guy, unless you're married to him.

On the plus side, it's refreshing to see that a blue collar gearhead/fabricator can become a celebrity every now and then.

I've always respected his crafting/fabricating abilities...... there's not much he can't do with metal.
Plus, he's always been a gun guy....which he said was a secondary reason for his move to Texas.

I gained a few notches of respect on the personal side when I saw an interview he did about why he sold WCC and moved to Texas. He said the main reason was to be a better father to his kids, and be a better example than what he was.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
