Hawkfish- this isn't a gun show sad story...but since you bring up the Sig Pro 9- I did the RIGHT thing when I bought mine almost 2 years ago. It's been flawless with about 5000 rounds through it. It just likes to be cleaned and it's your best friend.

Thats just mean  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Winchester M65 in .218 Bee, Parker 10ga. back when I was a Captain in Texas in 1967 and these guns were actually affordable -- for someone else -- not me.

Yep that's the one Jaybethel...     They are good guns and it was a good deal..   But, I did by my first Glock .40 that day.. so I guess I still came out ahead..  ::)     Unlike TAB, I would like to note that some of the best deals I have every found have been at the gunshows on brand new guns. I mean you can see brand new stuff, used stuff, and old stuff. Often times I have found brand new guns cheaper at the gunshow, from the same dealers that had higher prices in their own gunstores. They had lowered their prices somewhat to be competitive at the gunshow.. which helps the consumer. Of course you will find some guys that are way over priced and think they can sell just because it is the gunshow and somebody will buy it.. and occasionally they will make a sale. But, if you really watch the guys that stay busy all day..or that always have crowds of people around their booths.. they are selling good guns at good prices... you just have to be savy* and pay attention to get a good deal.

A big part about why its hard to find decent prices at gun shows is where I live... all P2P sales need to go thru a dealer, with the normal  10 "24 hour incraments"  Not to mention the space rent if $$$$.... not gun shows in reno, I've seen some great deal, but does not really help me muich.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Got my RIA .45 1911 at a gun show here in NH $360 new. Happy enough with it that its the only centerfire pistol I currently own. (But I'm working on that, saving for a 4" GP 100 in .357  ;D   )

I was at a show here at home, and saw a stack of SKS's for $125 each and a stack of Beretta 92's for $200 each. I passed on them. I wish I had taken out a loan and got every one of them. That was only about 7 years ago.

My first gun was one of those $120 SKS's about 9 years ago. My dad and I wish we'd bought every one he had on the table. $120 got me the rifle, and a bandolier with 200 rounds of ammo loaded into stripper clips.

The ammo made it a DEAL even then.
