i can't stand it when some one asks you to plan something.  You do, then they change plans.   its just so anoying.

Haven't you been married long enough to realize that is the norm?
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

No matter how much planning I insist on, no matter how much I do, the "suits", the "talent", always makes changes at the last minute.  Sometimes the last second, on the fly.  It's my job to anticipate this, to prepare for this... and I'm good at my job.  I never let those in front of the audience appear to fail.

Do I dislike the lack of planning which shows a lack of respect for the crew and the audience?  Yes.  Do I approach every show, every service, every performance with a certain amount of anxiety and trepidation?  Yes.    Do I just eat it up when I pull off another impossible save?  You bet.  I live for that adrenaline rush and for the congratulations around the control room.

It's a love-hate thing. Complain as much as you want.    But for me, it spells opportunity.

As I've said,  "There's opportunity in chaos.  Bring it on."

Or as Captain Jack Sparrow said, "Bring me that horizon."
