Info Please.......

Didn't know where else to put this so here goes....

Does anyone know of a link to the requirements for firearms training for UTAH non-resident CCW.  I have tried to get the info from a company that provides that training and an individual licensed in the state of Ohio to provide that training to no avail.  I have also checked with the Utah AG's web site.

Call them or email, number is on the first page of the link.  They teach the classes here in MA so I'm sure it's nothing too difficult.

Concealed Firearms permits in the State of Utah are regulated by the Bureau of Criminal Identification. A permit to carry a concealed firearm in the State of Utah may be obtained by completing the instructions, and meeting the requirements as outlined on Form 96-4-02 Application for Concealed Firearm Permit. Thanks for the info Timothy but I am wondering how the Utah firearms training differs from Ohio.  Might not need to take another course if what I have will work instead.  Can't seem to find that anywhere!  Will try BCI site.

TT is an NRA instructor, maybe he'll chime in...he helped me with my CT paperwork a few years back..  Shoot him a private message...

I sent them an e-mail.  Maybe that will get some info back.  Ohio requires the NRA Basic Pistol Course w/live fire.  Not sure if that will work or not.  From their outline it would seem so but I will wait to see what they say.

I have a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit.  All that they require is to attend a class, and pay the funds.  I think it was about $90.
The class was conducted at a Cabela's here in Washington state.  You will be fingerprinted, the instructor mails in
the paperwork to Utah, and they send it to you direct.  I think it was about 3 weeks to receive the permit..
There was no shooting, or firearms handling in the class.  The license is good for 5 years.

What I remember from getting it a few years ago is that you had to take a course, of their design, from one of their certified instructors.  All my other permits and certifications did not count.

Finally heard back from Utah!  I will have to take a 4 hour course just to become familiar with their firearms laws!!!  This leaves it up to me to become familiar with the laws of the other 35 or so states covered by the Utah CCW permit.
