Carrying a compact glock vs subcompact

I've been carrying a compact glock for a while and am considering trading it for a sub compact. I liked my SR9c way back. My concern is trading off the shootability of the compact. I really need to go a bit more concealable and am not impressed with the single stacks. My question is how many of you went from a 23 to 27 or 19 to 26 and do you have any regrets? Have you found any significant disadvantages?

I've carried the G27 for years. If you practice, you don't lose any shootablilty IMHO.
After trying out a friends G26 though, my rate of accurate fire with the 9 was faster.

If you already have a G23, get a 27 and use the 23 mags for reloads. If you have a G19, get a 26.

Do you think there is (in general) sufficient increase in concealability to warrant the shift?

I'm just a few months short of ten years CC-ing a G27 (about 75% vs 25% with my Commander 1911, in winter).
I've carried mine IWB, OWB, front pants pocket, and even carried in the bib pocket of a pair of Liberty overalls while I was in a wheelchair.
I have no complaints..... (I shouldn't, since I trust my life on it, eh?).

Very concealable, even in an OWB SERPA under a t-shirt in summer.
As to shootability, if you are a regular shooter, and have been shooting properly (ie: stance, grip, sight picture, etc) then the transition should be a non-issue. A new shooter might have to adjust.

I've never personally had issue with the G27's recoil.

I carry both a 19 and a 26, usually not at the same time. I love my 19, and it is reasonably concealable. If I could just have one pistol, it would be my choice. With that said, I carry my 26 a lot more than the 19. It's just enough smaller for me to appreciate it's extra concealability. It even fits in a pocket; though, I wouldn't call it a pocket gun. The only downside I have is that it's a little harder to draw from beneath multiple layers, but that's a good time to carry the 19 on my hip and the 26 in a coat pocket. If at all possible, don't get rid of the compact just go ahead and get the same caliber sub. Magazine compatibility is a major bonus.

PS I don't use a grip extension because that defeats the purpose of using the smaller gun.
