A&E Backs Down on Phil Robertson’s ‘Duck Dynasty’ Suspension

A&E confirmed on Friday that “Duck Dynasty” will resume filming later this spring with the “entire Robertson family.” That means Phil Robertson’s “hiatus” from the show, sparked by his remarks about homosexuality in GQ magazine, will have absolutely no impact on the upcoming season or the show at large.

The Robertson family also announced on Friday that Phil will still be as involved as ever in the series. The “Duck Dynasty” patriarch missed no filming during his temporary suspension that resulted in intense backlash from fans.

The whole thing was either a major screw up by A&E trying to please the PC crown (not hard to imagine) or a freaking brilliant marketing move. (much harder to imagine)
Either way, DD and A&E got a TON of publicity.

I don't remember if some group cried out hate speech first or A & E jumped up and made their announcement to distance themselves before an outcry. Either way in the future any products we buy will be checked to see that A & E isn't getting part of our money.

What got almost no reporting was the comments by a Storage Wars New York cast member that disputed Phil's claim and said as a practicing homosexual that a mans anus was much better and even gave way too many details to back up his claim.
