Given CNN host Piers Morgan’s unpopularity in the United States, there are likely a good number of Americans who would jump at the chance to throw cricket balls at him.

Brett Lee, a former Australian cricket player who once broke the 100mph barrier bowling a delivery, actually got the chance to do exactly that at the Melbourne Cricket Ground — six times.
Morgan is in Australia for the fourth Ashes Test and has been talking trash about how bad the England squad is playing. It was his trash-talk that prompted Lee to challenge Morgan to an “over.” Though he probably now regrets it (though he’s not admitting it), Morgan accepted Lee’s offer.

Morgan then proceeded to talk even more smack, this time directing it at Lee ahead of their match-up.

In the end, the TV host got whacked with three balls, bowled once, and fell over once. He claims his ego isn’t bruised, however, he left with a cracked wrist, bruised rib, and massive egg on the back of his head. BuzzFeed reports the speed of the balls at around 90mph.

I've never understood cricket.  Is the object to hit the guy with the ball?  Sounds like fun.

Too bad he didn't hit Piers in the voice box and disable that for a while.

Don't know the rules of Cricket either, but from that video, my guess is that the "pitcher" has the goal of hitting the wicket...and the "batter" is fair game.  Looks like the "batter" has to protect both the wicket and himself.

Actually, I have to give Morgan some credit here.

The obnoxious ass bad mouthed some cricket players, got challenged by one of them and didn't avoid it.

He got into the ring, took a beating, but stayed in till the end...so he does have shred of character.

Don't agree with his opinions or how he presents them with falsehoods and seeing him makes me want to throw things at him too....but he didn't run and hide.

I'd love to see him challenge my rugby team, or any rugby team for that matter.  I'd be the first in line to put my shoulder into his gut and bury his ass 3 feet into the ground.

Aw, who am I kidding.  I'd keep my shoulder high and blast him in the jaw.  Taking 240 lbs to the chops at 20 mph can't be good for your facial structure.
