No cams for me. The last crash I had was my fault anyway. Lots of witnesses.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Hi;

   I would install 1 if things got really bad in my future. I would like to have 1 in my company truck to cover my butt. They have in the past shown how people can be abused by police, and then may hang you - should you be the aggressor.

    The difference in State to State laws causes conflicts when driving.

     The people who think they can do as they please is rising and sooner or later results in accidents.

    A  ma duece on the top of my company truck with plenty of ammo would be nice - if I could only talk my boss into it , but then he wants 1 for his beamer.....When people call him about his drivers - he just asks where the caller lives ( State ) and usually says "Thank You for calling "... he deals with those sort of people on the road himself, and bitches about them.

Two tons is being generous.  I think our Impala tips the scales around 3k.  The Malibu was well under 3k.  An extended cab, short box, 4wd with V8 is hard pressed to make 5k any more.  Even a semi with 53' dry van is hard pressed to make 35k any more.

All of this dieting has its advantages in some areas, but it also has negatives.

Yep, the new cars have better motors and trannys, but the rest just falls apart quick.    the body and interior is what i notice the most.  Wiring is another, but that is always the issue after  X years. Just a lot more of it in new cars.

Sorry, but you can have the engines and transmissions as well.  Dollar for dollar and reliability level, I will take an 80's any day over the current stuff.  The electronic gadget crowd has taken over the automotive industry.

I have one and like it and you would be surprised what you might have missed when you play the tape back. I have a cheap one and it works for me and I don't plug it in all the time. ;)

THANK GOD!!!
Never having to set dwell or gap points, spark plugs that go 100k miles, better mileage and more power with less cubic inches? Fuel injection that runs better at all altitudes than any carb? And if you want to be a tuner, a computer analyzer that tells you EXACTLY down the gnats azz what the engine is doing and when? Plus a computer that adjusts the timing to avoid knock if I buy shitty gas?
Hell yeah!
Welcome to the 21st century.  ;)

Something similar was installed in every front line vehicle driven at Waste Management not in supervisory or management vehicles.  Originally intended for use in 'coaching' of driving habits, the camera's quickly became a disciplinary and in cab observation tool.  Drinking coffee or a soda, eating a candy bar or snack became a reason for a three day unpaid vacation.  The above is the reason the site I used to work at has a high turnover rate, and 40% of the drivers are new hires.  That's really good for safety.

If said camera's are forward looking only, maybe.  I'll not be monitored for the amusement of management or some functionary at an insurance company.

Nope, not a chance...

Pretty easy to prove you're speeding, rolling stops, tailgating, et. al. with a camera pointed anywhere but straight up...
