Hammer spring seat replacement on Ruger UPDATE
« on: January 05, 2014, 05:50:25 PM »
P89.  Has anybody done this?   I'm reasonably handy with hand, and some power tools.  I want to get rid of the lanyard ring.  Numrich has the part.  What's the procedure?

RUger may do it for you for free, but if you have an action job or non stock ruger parts, they will replace them with ruger parts when you get it back.   there CS is good, they will even go so far as destorying the gun, then replacing it with the exact serial number.( so no back ground check and other bs per state law)      personally i'd check youtube, you may just find it.   lots of good ( and bad) stuff on there.

I wouldn't have thought to see if Ruger would do it for free.  Email to Ruger forthcoming!  Thank you lad.

Ruger won't do the job.  They said I could order the part (If they had it) and ask for directions on the how.

I don't hold it against them.  I'll be more than happy to do the job myself.

GEtting instructions from them is still better then you were before.  Its a cheap part and should not be hard to install.   it was worth 10 mins to fire off a email.

Agree 100%....
ALWAYS explore ALL avenues and angles before "diving off" into the world of gun modification, regardless of how 'simple' it may appear.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
