Video of Big Dog
« on: June 01, 2008, 10:01:50 AM »
I was really amazed at the ability of this robot. The legs work almost as if they are real and have a brain directing them. It shows we are getting closer to A.I. The ice walking part in this video blows my mind. It really looks like a dog trying to gain its footing.

What was old is new again.  Kinda looks like a pack horse or mule on steroids.  Maybe the old style cavalry may ride again!
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

If it had a head you would want to scratch its ears !

No need to water, feed, curry or shovel up after your trusty steed.

Wicked cool.  I might have to fit one of those in a book somewhere.

I'm still trying to think of a practical application. Doug, what's the plot line?

Can't fit it into my current Chechnia storyline.  No field work, and no need to haul 360 pounds of equipment.

However, I do have miniature dronebots sabotaging nuclear reactors in my next Stony Man novel.

Maybe throw in an armed Big Dog style 'bot or two for extra muscle. :D
