B.A.R.T. officer shot by another
« on: January 24, 2014, 08:06:21 AM »
search-foo not working well, hope no one else started a thread on this.  Couldn't decide whether this was politics, handguns or defense tactics... toss up.  Cafe wins.

BART officer shoots and KILLS another officer while searching a home.

I feel bad for the officer and and his family.
The article leave so many unanswered questions.

  • Why are transit officers searching a home?
  • Was there a suspect at the residence?
  • Why did the other officer have his gun drawn?
  • Or did the offending officer find a gun on the premises and didn't know how to unload it.
  • What level of training do these officers receive?  (Broke at least 3 of the 4 prime directives.  Maybe all four see above.)
  • Accident?  Negligence.
Will work for ammo

From the story:

Quote
Nelson told KCBS it’s not unusual for BART police to carry out probation searches and that it’s part of their job.

"It obviously has something to do with a crime that occurred in the BART system and they were just following up on it," he said.
