REHASH- Good powders for 5.56/.223?
« on: January 28, 2014, 11:27:45 AM »
I don't see any recent threads on the subject, so has anyone got any new take on great powders for loading 5.56/.223?
I got the blues as my companion.

Out of necessity, when I couldn't find Varget, bought some AR-Comp that was available.  Loaded 55 GN, SP flat base, 25.5 AR-Comp.  As I recall without looking the load up, this is toward the upper middle of the recommended powder wt. This is not a particularly hot load of AR-Comp.   Lake City brass.  CCI small rifle primers.  Cycled well with no hiccups in my Stag Arms 5.56.  I only have a 100 yd range available.  Accuracy was on par with what I can hold off of sand bags.

I believe H335 is popular.  I've loaded a few with it, but given my stock of .223 I don't do it often so I can't really comment on how good it is.
Will work for ammo
