After my lifetime, Glock will have proven itself as one of the best of all time, BUT the 1911 will still be in production as THE best .45 platform ever made.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

YOU BET !!  I just got back from the range and the ROCK ISLAND ARMORY 45acp had two choices : 1 - would not extract , 2 - would not feed !!! IMPOSSIBLE to fire two rounds without one of these problems. Now you may ask is there a GOOD 45ACP OUT THERE LESS THAN THE COST OF A CAR ????  YES it is UGLY BUT IT SHOOTS ANYTHING PUT IN THE MAG. THIS ISTHE HIGH POINT 45acp. Do I own any of these ?? YES I own all plus the GOLD CUP BY COLT. The RIA is going to te next fool I find with 300.00 bucks.  Keep on shooting as it is the only way we can be prepared for when the s--t hits the fan.

Try RIA's customer service, I hear a lot of good things about it. They will do what they can to make the situation right.

Trade it for a Rock Island Armory. Best 1911 you will find under $500

I don't Have any troubles with my 1911's. Especially my AO it out performs my Para, Sistema and my Colt. When I let others use it they are always quite surprised at how well it shoots and functions. The only modification is Millet Adjustable target sights. After that the Old Sistema is the next best followed by the Para then the Colt. But they all work.

A: No.

Ask the Indianna State Police about their crappy Glock 40s. Ya know, the ones they dumped for -are you ready for this - Glock 9s.

I was issued some crappy M1911A1s by Uncle Sam. Of course, at the time (1980s) they were older than I was and had been rode hard and put away wet more thana few times. ;)
