A pithy maxim or two as history repeats
« on: June 05, 2008, 09:05:56 AM »
Herewith, are my new maxims for the remainder of 2008, they should serve as a powerful balm against the prototypical, neo-hippy B-HO voter or garden variety leftist liberal.  Also, guaranteed to send twenty-something (or maybe 50-somethings too) communist wannabes into a fit of rage.

I am quite fond of numbers one and two, hence I have no doubts as to their effectiveness.  Three, four, and five remain under evaluation and are subject to change.  Further general truths, fundamental principles, and/or proverbial says are in the offing.

1-I don't want any part of your (socialist) change.

2-Leave us out of your Utopian dreams.

3-McCarthy was right, Duranty was a damn liar, and Che was a murderer.

4-Good and Evil, contrary to recent media statements, exist.

5-Chamberlain was a naive fool.

This slogan needs tweaking a bit:
Obama, change (that Jimmy Carter was ashamed to avow in 1976).

I don't want any part of your change.

McCarthy was right...

VERY good!  I really like #1 and #4.  When I think about #4, it really works with #2 in that the mind set of the utopian dream/society is that there is no evil.

Slogan is on track with the tie to Carter too.  Maybe some tweak'n.  Sure a lot of the creative minds on this forum will help!

Excellent!  +1
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

Stolen, stolen....I've stolen this in an email already...but I did give you credit for it!

I'm quite pleased that everyone has enjoyed these simple maxims.  I'm even more pleased to see that some folks can recall history's lessons.

I may strengthen maxim #1 thusly:

1- I do not need your (socialist) change

It is vastly more demonstrative when stated as a need.
I don't want any part of your change.

McCarthy was right...

In light of the Congressional Democrats call to place windfall taxes on oil companies:

Government revenues (i.e. taxes) are nothing more than wealth redistribution

Any (unbiased) high school economics student can tell you that is true and they also know that any tax on the producer will be passed on to the end consumer.  Seems there are some members that foolishly think otherwise.
I don't want any part of your change.

McCarthy was right...

Middleman:  Excellent.  You mentioned that your BHO Slogan needed some tweaking.  I figured that I would offer my shot.  After all, I have a B.S. in Advertising and have yet to work more that six months in the field so I am eminately more qualified that your garden variety badger to offer some advice.

Your present slogan:
Obama, change (that Jimmy Carter was ashamed to avow in 1976).

Some of my proposals:
Obama: The Change Jimmy Carter was ashamed to avow in 1976.  Pithiesque with some minor punctuation changes.  (BHO voters tend to not understand the parenthetical statement that you and I are so fond of).

Then I got to thinkin' again.  With the state of today's education system, how many BHO voters know who Jimmy Carter is, hell what 1976 was.  Most weren't alive and those that were, were... well it was the '70's.  On top of all that, there is the whole issue of explaining the whole avow thing never mind the silly punctuation.

I think in the proud Democrat tradition of FDR, JFK, RFK, LBJ et. al. we should introduce the BHO concept to the dumb masses drop the date and the avow to give us:
BHO: The Change Jimmy Carter was ashamed of

Then the 'ole hamster got to gallopin' again and I thought of a whole new direction, but I think we should definitely keep the BHO concept in the public eye so I came up with:
BHO: Change! And your folding money too!

Let me know.  We still have plenty of lead time.
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
