NFL Super Bowl is/was on whatcha' doin'???

OK.  I was fixing up rail on an AR for a bipod and cleaning my DMR.  The XYL has the bowl game on in the background so I see what is going on every now and again.  I've go the 2M/70CM handheld scanning the repeaters whilst working with the DMR.

Well, seeing as how there is not a damn thing on my cable that I pay dearly for, and never is on Sundays it seems, I am watching DVDs of That 70's Show!  I thought about watching Tombstone or Full Metal Jacket, but I have seen both of them hundreds of times.

Well you could watch Sniper with Tom Berenger to change things up a bit.  It's off the wall, I know, but considering the drivel out there it floats higher than most.

Edit-  Miami Vice movie...maybe The Recruit.

Not missing much!  The #1 offense stayed in Denver ...  Sad, the first stupid bowl I watch in a decade and it sucks...  At least Bruno Mars kept his clothes on...

Watched a DVD.

Kinda surprised at the end score (in a "who cares" sorta way).

I love football, so I watch.  However, yesterday was a lot of house work and other work, so it was just on in the background.

Can someone explain to me what the subliminal message was that was being sent with the flames in the lower corner of the screen, and at another time a handgun being racked?  I'm sure it was a build up to a movie or tv show they were advertising, but if you don't glue yourself to the screen you miss the message.

My point in this question is that if Daniel Defense was banned for having a sihlouette of a rifle, why was the racking of a handgun allowed?

I have discovered e books , and The Gutenberg Project .  ;D
I was reading "The Gatlings at Santiago" about the gatling guns used in the Spanish / American war by John Parker who was the detachment commander .

Probably the next one will either be Caesar's "Commentary on the Gallic War" or Churchill's account of the battle of Omdurman "The river war".

Since there was nothing on TV worth watching I watched a couple of movies online instead.

I watched it just because. I was actually hoping for a decent game even though I an much more interested in college football.

I did find something disturbing. One of the local news channels here had a piece on safety/travel to the game. During it, they showed some police patrolling the arrival areas on foot. At least one that was shown was wearing a decked out MOLLE/body armor vest with an AR slung over his chest. Yes, security is important, but I don't want to see that level of geared up cop just causally walking around. They also talked of multiple checkpoints and dogs. I think this is still the US?
