I have the PT145. Paid about $300 here in Texas. First problem, sights were off. Way off. Sent it back and 3 months later - new sights (problem fixed). Next problem - with a full magazine and an empty chamber, the slide would catch preventing the chambering of a round. Worse if you tried it "in a hurry." Sent it back (this time at their expense) and 2 months later - new parts and a functioning gun. To be fair, I appreciate its size and handling. It shoots well without much recoil (relatively speaking). Before buying this gun, I wrote to one of the popular gun writers from another gun show who swears the PT 145 is his personal defensive pistol. He feels the problems were mostly confined to the first generation. He did state in his email that it's still his gun of choice. I like the gun but will give it a thorough work out at the range before putting it back into rotation as my primary carry gun.
