How Bad Has Racism Become?
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:18:56 AM »
I ask this because of the uproar over a statement made by a Minnesota Representative concerning the NBA.  Now, do go off on me without reading my entire message here.

I said it back when the DNC was fighting over whether this nation should be branded racist or sexist.  BHO and HRC were fighting their way through the primaries, and I said that we, those who disagreed with the Democrat liberal stance, were being set up to be either sexist or racist.  We were in a no win situation regardless of the outcome.

Well, today we have Pres. BHO, and every time we voice our political or moral stance we are labeled racist.  Over the weekend Minnesota Rep. Pat Garofalo made a statement concerning the NBA, and with no comment what so ever concerning race, he has been labeled racist.

Read the article, and see the trouble our nation is in.  I am not even talking about the government today.  I am talking about the idiots who vote and the media who herds them.

Quote
State Rep. Pat Garofalo sent a tweet Sunday that read: "Let's be honest, 70% of teams in NBA could fold tomorrow + nobody would notice a difference w/ possible exception of increase in streetcrime."

The Star Tribune reports (http://strib.mn/1cNB6Ys ) that when asked about the tweet, the Farmington Republican said he was "talking about NBA's high arrest rate and that they are the only major pro league that testing positive for marijuana is not a substance abuse violation."

As far as the NBA. The shorts got longer, and the tempers got shorter.

No one wants to be called a racist so it is an effective way to control people.

There will always be a few people to damned dumb to find any better reason for hating their neighbors, than skin color, religion, or some other thing.
I find that peoples personalities supply plenty of reason to hate them with out ever considering skin tone.

Anybody who at anytime recognizes the race of a person or group is racist.  Not all racism is bad, because at it most base level it is only a recognition that we are individuals and we are different.  However, there was nothing racist in a comment on the proven actions of many members of a given group.  I have yet to read or hear that he made a comment based on race.  He commented on how this group of athletes has a very high criminal record, and the organization is very lax on its enforcement of ethical codes of life.

We live in a society so dumbed-down that a public uproar can be caused by using the word niggardly.

Pretty much tells the tale.

I am by no means a genius, but the rampant idiocy makes me smack my head on a regular basis.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

First, racism - real racism - still exists.  We have made much progress since my childhood 50 years ago, but it is still very real - and it infects some people in ALL RACES.  The biggest difference is that it is no longer socially acceptable or widespread.

Second, as has been mentioned, pulling the race card is a very effective way to marginalize someone the left does not want the public to listen to.  Thankfully, they are over playing it and it is less and less effective.  It is also rendered less effective by the ever increasing number of Black and Hispanic conservatives.

Third, the biggest reason that the race card is constantly played is that there are many people invested in the "race problem" continuing to exist.  If racism really is getting better, than many people are at risk of loosing political power and others are risk of loosing their living and their lifestyle.

There are some similarities with the war on drugs - millions of people are dependent upon the war on drugs continuing, even it it accomplishes little to no good.  The same is true of the "war on racism" - the day it is won, the "soldiers" will be unemployed.
