A congressman writes
« on: June 19, 2008, 06:25:16 PM »
A while ago (68 days) I write to Congressman Bart Stupak asking him where he stated on gun control and our gun rights and how he felt about Heller vs. D.C. . Well he finally got back to be sending me a email stating that he fully believes in the Second Amendment  and that the PEOPLE have a RIGHT to own and BEAR them. He also stated that he singed a Amicus Brief concerning Heller vs.D.C., that had been circulated by Mike Ross and Mark Souder around Congress and then forward to the Supreme Court  and that the Courts decision should be handed down some time this summer.  Yes some members of Congress to write back ( at least I know that mine do) If  I do not get a reply in 90 days  I write again followed with a phone call. By the way the same goes for ANY elected official.
Back up guns---Better to have and not need than to need and not have!

Gunman1911!  Great job!  Writing and respectfully stating your opinion is what more people need to do!  YOUR VOTE MATTERS!!

I have written my representatives here in OK (on everything from cigar taxes to gun control) and they write back.  May take awhile but they do write back.

If 150 million people do what you did, I do, and others do,,... we might get some sense in their heads...

See, tombogan, I'm trying to be more optimistic. ;)

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
